Introduction:
The Monsters of Rock Radio Network cranks 2 full hours of hard rock and heavy metal from the 1980s and beyond every week. This is the show that fans of the genre have been waiting for – a show for the fans by the fans. Host Harlan and producer Earl Blackheart have been fans of the music for decades and have never lost the excitement and thrill of bringing fans the best music out there.
These guys not only play the music the fans want to hear, from such bands as Motley Crue, Bon Jovi, Queensryche, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, and Cinderella. They also ask the bands the questions that the fans want answered in exclusive interviews. They keep the fans informed with the best and latest information on new releases, tours, and other band news.
Guns-N-Roses guitarist Gilby Clarke said it best when he said "The reason Harlan has a better hard rock show than anyone else is because he actually knows the bands ...He's not some radio geek...I never feel like I'm going on a radio show, we just hang out...It's always very cool"
The Monsters Of Rock also stays fresh with annual shows that the fans look forward to, including the “Year in Review,” “Between the Sheets” ballads special for Valentine’s Day, “Summer Preview” to highlight the upcoming tours for Memorial Day, an all Live cuts show for Labor Day, the Halloween special, and the Christmas special. In addition, they may surprise you with such shows as remembering the classic film “Decline of Western Civilization Part II: The Metal Years”, the groundbreaking concert “Moscow Music Peace Festival”, or previewing the new album from classic bands like Queensryche, Judas Priest, or Def Leppard.
The Story:
In 1998 after hearing a few so-called "Nationally Syndicated" hard rock shows, Harlan had heard enough. "It made me incensed to hear these shows making such a mockery of the 1980's & the very music myself and many others love. "
He decided to call on some of his old Glam Rock buddies and put together his own radio show. The Monsters of Rock was born.
As a trial run Harlan decided to broadcast the show for 3 months on an Internet Only station to see what kind of reaction he would get. By the last month of the contract the average TSL was over 120 minutes and the show was getting well over 40,000 hits from all over the world.
Today The Monsters of Rock is heard by over 100,000 listeners a week while its sister TheMonstersofRock.com has become a daily destination for fans as far as Japan and Australia.
The book has only just begun......so keep it tuned right here & help celebrate the greatest music ever made
